This documentary by the Department of the Army from 1997.....
 is a long over due tribute,
 to
the over 1.2 million African Americans, that served during World War II.

It contains extensive film footage of African Americans fighting on D-Day,the Battle of the Bulge, Italy and the Pacific.
There are also interviews with the veterans themselves.....
including Congressional Metal of Honor winners. 

Gen Colin Powell-US Army Retired is quoted as saying....
"The African American Veterans of World War Two served a nation that was not yet
ready to serve them."

It took over 50 years for some truth to come to light.

On January 13,1997 seven African American soldiers were awarded the "Medal Of Honor"
for actions performed during WWII.
